Closeness

Kalej Valley, Darjeeling -- Although I'm in Kenya at the moment, I feel like I'm still in India. Maybe because I haven't really processed that experience. What keeps coming back to me is this couple who ran the village shop. They let me hang out with them for quite a while as they peeled potatoes, sold a few eggs on credit, and noted the credit in their logbook. I was struck by the feeling of closeness between the two. Thanks so much to them for sharing their day with me.
